New Jewelry making techniques! Working with Jump Rings:)
Last week I went to the library with my son and got sidetracked and ended up looking at the crafting section. I came across a book on jewelry making with jump rings. I thought wow, these look extremely complicated, but I'm gonna give it a try anyway. So I bought a bunch of jump rings and a few hours later, this is what I came up with! What do you think of my new creations? I'd love to hear your opinions:)http://www.etsy.com/shop/adia61382?ref=si_shop

The Bobby Pin and Clippie Obsession
The possibilities are endless with these so called "bobbies"! They are easy to make, fun to create, and simple adorable in your hair! I have used lots of flower cabochons for these, little buttons, butterflies, and recently started making my own colorful flowers to put on them. Here are a couple of my favorites:)
My new favorite thing to make- Charm Bracelets!!
They're addicting, exciting, creative, colorful- I just have so much fun making them and sometimes have a hard time putting them up for sale:) I always find myself browsing other peoples handmade charm bracelets thinking- oh no I need that one! But do I really? Why is it that other peoples things are so much cooler than your own? I'm always very amazed and a little bit intimidated by the talent that a lot of people have on Etsy. I hope that someone out there can see talent in my makings too. I have a blast thinking of new ideas for new bracelets. Here are a few that I just recently made.

How to make a cuff bracelet
The teenage soul is the easiest to please it seems. They love crazy vibrant colors and styles, the way that I did when I was that young. I started making cuff bracelets because that seems to be the "in" thing now.
They were pretty easy to make, here are some steps on how I made them
Step 1. Choose cute fabrics
Step 2. Cut small pieces of the fabric out and sew them back to back so that when you unfold them the sewn part is hidden. Do this to several pieces until the fabric is about 5" or 6" in length.
Step 3. Iron the edges of the fabric to make the sides even, then sew a stitch on each side.
Step 4. Cut a coordinating piece of felt long enough to overlap your fabric strip about 1/4" or so, then stitch them together.
Step 5. Cut 2 tiny holes on each side, this is where you will attach the silver eyelets.
Step 6. Bust out your carpenter skills and hammer those eyelets onto your fabric
Step 7. Pick out a pretty ribbon and lace up the cuff
Step8. Wa-la! you have a lovely cuffed bracelet! Here is the finished product!

Playing with Clay
Last week I decided to buy some polymer clay. I ordered a DIY kit off of another Etsy member. I wasn't sure if I could even make anything, but I thought it looked fun so I got to creating! I ended up staying up until the wee hours of the morning making charms, beads and other little jewelry pieces. Oh no, I am addicted to the clay making- its so much fun to make your own stuff!!
